Two independent but like-minded York music store owners combined energies Sunday to provide, with a lot of help, city youngsters with fresh haircuts and back to school supplies. It was simply, Ray Harris and Harry Colon said, a way to thank their customers and give back to the community. Harris, the owner of Xclusive Music at 256 W. Philadelphia St., and Colon, owner of Da Underground at 683 E. Market St., hosted the community cookout at Albermarle Park.

After doing a radio interview at 93.1FM in North Georgia, the High Off Life fam stopped by The Boiler Room, where Dub Floyd creates all of his magic!!!! While vibing to a collection of Pete Rock instrumentals, we made the most of the moment & filmed a tribute video directed by Stephen Philms!!!! Days ago, I posted up a video of Harrisburg, PA rapper/promoter Young Cream aka Justin Barnes going in on a video. Having known Cream personally for years, he’s as calm & peaceful a dude you’ll encounter. Rightfully so, the city of Harrisburg is in a frenzy after he was beat down by a gang of police in front of hundreds of people as the clubs on 2nd street let out. One minute, Justin Barnes was standing in front of the Dragonfly nightclub on North Second Street in Harrisburg, handing out fliers promoting a rap group’s performance.
The next thing the Harrisburg man knew, he said, he was lying on the ground, his eyes watering from a sprayed irritant, a police baton held to his neck, four police officers piled on him, his hands cuffed and his back tingling from being shot with a Taser.
On July 2nd, we shot the music video for “Writing On The Wall“.. Phene & Atlanta director Stephen Philms took a trip up to York, PA to capture the hometown visuals to match the song. Here’s some more Higher Learning for ya!!!! June 22, 2010 Swizz Beatz attended the Bronx Charter School Of The Arts art auction…. an event held to raise funds for the school Swizz recently adopted and now sponsors. I did a brief over the phone interview with the Executive Director of the Bronx Charter School Of The Arts…. Christina Brown (pictured above) which happens to be my cousin (what up cuzzo? lol) and she gave me more insight on what exactly went down. All of the items in the auction were original paintings and photography done by the school’s students and all of the items eventually sold out!!!! Swizz was there in full support and eventually played auctioneer raffling off tickets for the big Jay-Z and Eminem concert at Yankee Stadium in September. He auctioned off 8 tickets for a total of about $9,000 and by the end of the night the school raised over $21,000!!!! A big congrats from HighOffLife.com goes out to all of the staff and most of all…. the students who attend the Bronx Charter School Of The Arts!!!!
