During the 5 Stories, 1 Dream Concert last weekend in Atlanta, Final Encore was in the crowd scouting talent & taking notes. They’ve posted multiple well-written Performance reviews on their website, including the one below.
“Now calling Atlanta home, rapper Phene was a surprise in the lineup. Unassumingly, he took the stage + waited for his DJ to drop the beat. As he started to get further in his set, Phene’s talent was obvious. He told a lyrical tale of the resilience necessary to survive in the music industry by drawing parallels to early encounters + difficulties he had learned to face in younger years. Good thing that his pen game is nice because he certainly knows how to enthrall an audience with his stories. In addition, during his set, he would intermittently tell the DJ to cut the music off so that the crowd would be privileged enough to hear such lyrical anecdotes without the trappings of background bass. The words meant more as he urgently told us his resolutions to the problems that he was dealing with using his music as paper and his flow as pen.”
